Description
Supra-Lag SANS is a premium, two-part, trowelable, polymer system designed specifically to meet SANS 1669-2:2008, containing a high load of spherical ceramic beads, submerged in a rapid curing modified epoxy resin system, primarily intended as a lagging for conveyor belt pulleys. In addition, this unique product utilizes Silane Technology to maximise the bond between the spherical ceramic beads and the epoxy resin, preventing the graded alumina from simply washing out as the epoxy resin wears down. Cheaper and inferior products on the market normally do not utilize this technology due to the high cost. We do not believe in compromising the performance of our products in order to cut back on costs, our focus is always to achieve optimal performance.
Silane Technology Illustrations
Description
This illustration indicates how the spherical ceramic beads are kept in position, chemically as well as mechanically, within the polymer epoxy system. Chemically, by utilizing Silane Technology to chemically bond the beads to the epoxy resin and mechanically by means of crowding and interlayering the beads closely to one another.
Description
This illustration indicates how cheaper and inferior products on the market only make use of crowding and interlayering to mechanically hold their alumina particles in position. In this case the alumina particles will simply washout as the epoxy resin wears down.
ADVANTAGES OF OUR CERAMIC EPOXY PULLEY LAGGING
- It generates a high coefficient of friction, providing exceptional grip especially in wet conditions
- A diamond-shape pattern can be imprinted into the lagging, furthermore preventing belt slippage
- The lagging can be applied with a crown, encouraging the conveyor belt to run on the centre of the pulley
- We utilize Silane Technology to maximise the chemical bond between the spherical ceramic beads and the epoxy resin, preventing the beads from simply washing out as the epoxy resin wears down
- Refurbishments extend the life of costly conveyor belt pulley drums
- An epoxy lagging can be filled-up and need not to be removed completely for a re-line
- It is possible to do repairs and apply laggings on site, without removing the pulley from its installed position.
- Pulley drums can be re-aligned after they have worn down unevenly by applying the lagging thicker in areas where more wear has taken place
- It is significantly lighter than ceramic tile pad applications
- It is able to withstand a higher degree of impact, above other more brittle linings, like ceramic tile pad applications
- It provides a seamless lining, without any joints
- It is much more environmentally friendly to remove from a pulley drum than the traditional rubber lagging
